For McGregor - The Woodlands windows

Some of the windows in the Woodlands Centre have poems on them - both in English and Gaelic.

My apologies that the photos are not easier to read (clicking on some enlarges them).

Sorry they're not better quality, Karen.

The Woodlands Centre

The Woodlands Centre in Stornoway Castle grounds is where GB and I can usually be found around coffee time...

This little yellow van used to be GB's, it obviously knows where to find him.

Monday 8th June

The start of a day of wall to wall sunshine.

We paid a brief trip into Stornoway where I took a look at the fishing boats in the harbour.

Lews Castle from the harbour.

Looking across towards the Woodlands Centre.

We drove around past the golf course....

...and through the woods....

...to the Woodlands Centre for coffee.

GB enjoying the sun.

Inside views of the Woodlands Centre - they make a change from pictures of Florentines and Tunnocks Tea-cakes.

Woodlands Centre

Friday 13th June 2008
After shopping at the Co-op (where we went through Carol's till as usual) I had a quick look at the harbour.

One of the fishing boats had presumably just returned - judging by the reactions of the gulls.

Then we went to the castle grounds (where the Rhododendrons are at their peak) to have our usual coffee at the Woodlands Centre.

One of my favourite coffee accompaniments a the Woodlands Centre is the Florentine but today it was GB who had that while I had some lemon and coconut cake with my latte.

The crossword proved less than easy and we did not finish it at coffee time - most unusual. (Having left it to stew in our brains it proved fairly easy to finish at lunch time. Isn't it funny how things work their way forward in your subconscious once you stop thinking about them.)
