These are amazing, John. Thank you so much for posting them. The words on the glass make visual the notion of palimpsest; the poetry, like other poetry I have read in translation from the Gaelic, is heart-wrenching. I was looking at photos of Lewis last night noting the utter absence of trees on the moors, forgetting completely the castle woodland (despite my photos).
