It was raining with thick, uniform, grey/black clouds at 5.45 this morning.
But anyone who was up from half past four would have seen yet another lovely sunrise. You can blame Carol up the road for me showing yet more cloud photos - she was so complimentary about the Saturday sunset ones when she and Iain called in last night on their way back from a walk. These two photos were taken in fairly quick succession around 4.40 am.
Because I am facing into the sun, the camera gives a false impression of the amount of light on the foreground. It appears to be dark but it is actually perfectly light by 4.45 a.m.
This is looking over to the South West, across Norman and Christine's holding at 5.50 a.m.. There is a thick dark grey cloud over almost all the sky except the North East.
Looking Eastwards up Iain's croft the sky is just as bad over Iain and Carol's which is hidden behind the trees on the left.
By five a.m. the sun was disappearing into the clouds.
And by half past five the only pale bits left were over the mainland.
